Biad Chili offers both Certified and Non-Certified seed. We work with the New Mexico Department of Ag State Seed Laboratory to certify our seed. The state seed lab supervisor is a certified seed analyst (CSA) in germination and purity testing who uses the Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA) “Rules for Testing Seeds” to guarantee and certify our seed. The State Seed Laboratory determines the quality of seed used for planting. Seed testing yields information about seed lots for two purposes:
The seed certification process requires that the crop pass both field inspection and laboratory analysis. The field must be planted from the proper class of seed, have adequate isolation, and be free of objectionable weeds and diseases. We at Biad Chili meet all of the requirements necessary and go way above to ensure our customers get the best quality seed available. We use our own farms here locally for producing our certified seed. Certification is available on several varieties.
